Celebrate National Cat Day With Hamilton Road Animal Hospital on October 29!
October 29 is National Cat Day, and our team of veterinarians at Hamilton Road Animal Hospital couldn't be more excited! We also want to remind our cats’ moms and dads that now is a great time to schedule your cat's next wellness exam at our clinic. Our team works with cats and kittens alike, providing a "purr-fect" standard of care to all felines!
Keep Your Cat Up-to-Date on Vaccines Recommended by Our Veterinarians
As part of your cat's wellness exam, we'll also take the time to review your cat's health records to ensure that he or she is up-to-date on all vaccines. If not, we can take care of that right here in our office. There are a number of core vaccines recommended for both cats and kittens, with the rabies vaccine being among them.
Other vaccinations to consider for your cat include:
- Feline panleukopenia (Feline Distemper)
- Feline calcivirus
- Feline rhinotracheitis
- Feline leukemia
- Feline chlamydia
Typically, kittens should begin receiving their vaccinations around 7 - 9 weeks of age and revaccinating at 3 to 4 week intervals until your kitten is 12 to 14 weeks old. Adult cats usually require yearly vaccine boosters with their wellness examination.
Keeping your cat up-to-date on vaccinations is extremely important to your cat's health. Not to mention, should you ever need to board your cat for any reason, boarding facilities usually require proof that your cat is current on their vaccines.
